Breaking Through: Transforming Weaknesses into Opportunities for Resilient Growth

Video

Strengths are important, AND we have to acknowledge weaknesses, which are often in contrast, two sides of the same coin.

For  example, I struggle with being anxious, but when I am mentally healthy, my primary strengths are being grounded, secure, valiant, and serene.  Anxious vs. grounded and secure, valiant and serene. Do you see?  And yours are as well.

Unfortunately, one of the best-kept secrets of our lives?  Weaknesses aren’t meant to be permanent.  This is the resilience you seek:   You are already uniquely equipped to turn those weaknesses into strengths IF YOU SO CHOOSE.

It’s not an easy path, but we continue to discover new strengths as we go.

How do I know?  It’s in every great film you love.  Every story starts with the hero being stuck in their weaknesses. They are presented with some kind of change or challenge.  If they stubbornly refuse to take it – there wouldn’t be a story.  The story IS the hero meeting a series of challenges or obstacles.

OF COURSE they fail at first.  Each obstacle is an opportunity to discover strengths they didn’t know they had.

It’s in every story because it’s in YOUR story.  Your weaknesses ARE your opportunities.  It won’t be easy, but using your strengths, it will be an adventure.  That adventure is transformative.

Some simply identify these strengths and weaknesses, say no-thank you, and live in the status quo.

They have all the information, and it’s interesting to think about, but –

Say it with me:  Information is NOT transformation.

Like any plan, it’s powerless until it is implemented.  No story is great unless there is change, growth, transformation.
