That awareness of what holds you back that we talked about last week is just the beginning. Truly changing its effect on us comes from challenging our beliefs — even when we can make a compelling case for them being completely true. How do we actually do this?
First, identify what it is about that belief that stops you. What aspect of it holds you, preventing you from making a different choice? This may require some deep reflection, but somewhere within you, you know the answer.
Walk with me down this mind path — Does your relationship with this belief feel different than it did last week? Probably. Why? Because you’ve exposed it, bringing it into the light of your awareness. That consciousness naturally changes how we think, feel, and act. It’s like laying all the pieces out in front of us, similar to comparing features on a product or choosing a nutrition plan. It makes things very clear.
When an invisible belief is exposed, we can see all the other options. The belief can no longer hold you back with the same power. We may not always like the alternatives, but we can see them and deliberately choose something different, moving us closer to what we truly want. No one enjoys a restrictive diet, right? We don’t want to limit ourselves — but we DO want the results of that effort, so we make better choices.
If that belief is no longer constraining you, what choice do you want to make now?
Let’s make this practical. Imagine yourself in a situation where that belief no longer stops you. How much more easily will you make changes?
Where would you begin?
